How to Cook Ham in the Air Fryer?

Because different air fryers cook at slightly different temperatures, cooking times will vary. Of course, the size of the ham is also different. For every pound of thoroughly cooked ham, we anticipate 15-20 minutes of cooking time. You’ll need to glaze again halfway through cooking. Check the ham during the second half of the cooking time to make sure it is not too dry. Then you can decide how long you want to cook the ham. For a crunchy caramel texture, we like to finish the ham uncovered for the last 5 minutes. The recipe box below contains all the necessary information.
In an air fryer, how do you cook ham
You can also reheat whole ham that is fully cooked but uncut in the air fryer.
- Check that the ham will fit in the air fryer basket without touching the heating element. To fit the ham, you may need to cut it into 2-3 pieces.
- Wrap the ham in aluminum foil securely.
- Preheat the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 325F.
- Set a timer for 10 minutes per pound for ham wrapped in aluminum foil in an air frying basket.
- Remove from the air fryer with tongs or oven mitts when finished, and carefully remove the foil to allow steam to escape. Slice and serve while still warm.
Is it possible to heat cooked ham in an air fryer
To cook in an air fryer, you’ll need a thoroughly cooked ham that weighs no more than 2-3 pounds. If the ham weighs more than 3 pounds, it will be too close to the heating element. Make sure the foil doesn’t touch the heating element on the top of the air fryer when you cook it. Trim the bottom of the ham if necessary so it doesn’t get too high. Use bone-in ham instead. They are almost never thin enough to put in an air fryer.

Guys, this procedure is quite simple. However, one thing to keep in mind is that you will be opening and folding the foil several times, as well as lifting and lowering it. As a result, you may want to double up on the foil to minimize tearing and spilling!
Produce Glaze. In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, crushed pineapple (with juice!), grated ginger, and soy sauce to form a sweet, gooey glaze. Bring the mixture to a low heat and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid scorching. Remove the glaze from the heat and place it on a plate to cool.
Score one for the ham. Cut diagonal slices one inch deep into the ham. Cut incisions one inch parallel to the corners at the top of the ham, half an inch apart. Then, in the opposite direction, turn the ham over and make parallel slashes. A diamond-shaped line will appear across the top of the ham.
For the ham, make a foil container. Place the ham in the center of a long sheet of foil, cut face up. To make a “bowl,” fold the sides of the foil up and around the ham. Put everything in the air fryer basket.
Cover in foil and coat with ham. Half of the heated glaze should be applied to the ham. Make sure it reaches the diagonal slice you made. Fold the foil along the ham, crimping or double the edges to seal the top.
Fry the ham in the air. Heat an air fryer to 300F and cook the ham for about 20 minutes. Then carefully remove the air fryer basket and open the foil box. Brush the ham with the remaining glaze. Replace the foil in the air fryer and close it again. Cook for another 20 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chocolate top if desired. Simply open the foil and fold back to expose the top of the ham to the heat for a slight crunch. Fry for a few minutes at 350 degrees.
Serve. Carefully remove the ham from the air fryer basket. Place on a plate to serve. If you’re serving ham with pineapple rings on top, lay it out first and then pour the rest of the sauce over it before serving.
How long do I cook ham in the air fryer?
Since this is a done ham, you just need to air fry it until it’s really hot and the glaze has had a chance to season the meat. At 300F, I found that 810 minutes per pound worked well! However, you can check the ham more quickly and/or leave it in the oven longer.
Since the ham is ripe, the timing doesn’t need to be perfect. Also, since each type and size of air fryer has a slightly different way of cooking, it’s a good idea to check your ham often until it’s cooked to your liking.

Is it possible to use aluminum foil in an air fryer
For easy cleaning in your air fryer, use foil or parchment paper. Parchment paper, on the other hand, may be a better choice.
Acidic foods should not be fried in foil.
Tomatoes and oranges, we’re talking about you. Foods that have a high acid content can react with the foil, causing the acid to break down the aluminum, according to Insider. Since parchment paper is not a reactive substance, it is the best choice for frying these foods. Not as easy to cut and shape as aluminum foil. It also has a lower chance of sticking to food than foil.
Otherwise, using foil in an air fryer is a good idea. Make small trays to get a golden brown crust on whatever you cook!

This ham is very cold, but the instructions for heating it are usually on the package. Place the cut ham side down on heavy-duty aluminum foil and wrap tightly. Alternatively, use an oven toaster bag and prepare according to the bag’s instructions. Bake for 10-14 minutes per pound in the preheated 325F oven, or until the meat thermometer reaches 135F. Before serving, remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes. If the ham came with an extra glaze, add it and cook according to package recommendations. Turn the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, brush the ham with the glaze, and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze is golden and bubbling. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

- Turn on the air fryer and wait 3-5 minutes for it to heat up. For small air fryers under 3 liters, we recommend 2 minutes. We recommend about 5 minutes for a larger air fryer.
