Then I thought, “Maybe I should write an article about it.” Nothing is wasted this way. So I started showing the jar to a few of my American friends (you know, my article doesn’t offend anyone). Based on their expressions, I believe we can reasonably say that bacon spread is not a thing in America.

It tasted like salty vegetables, but it was liquefied and ground with garbage, then marinated in the toilet for 42 days. I also don’t like the texture; it’s gelatinous, which is not what you’d expect from a beef product.

My new bacon spread was asked how and where to use it. There are many ways to incorporate bacon sauce into your daily meals and cooking. Let your imagination run wild and see what you can come up with (and share your thoughts with me in the comments section below).

  • Make a regular grilled cheese sandwich, but cover it with bacon jam before toasting a slice of bread.
  • For a delicious bacon pasta, swirl some bacon jam into the remaining tomato or alfredo sauce and toss with some pasta (try the ravioli like I made in the photo above).
  • Do you like BLT? Make this classic sandwich, but instead of bacon strips, use bacon jam.
  • On burgers, bacon jam is an excellent condiment. Spread on toast, top with your artisan burger and cheese, and top with arugula or lettuce.

After opening the jar and tasting the bacon jam, I discovered this well-balanced mixture of candied, savory and smoky. The onions and caramel go well together, and the bacon bits add a nice touch. This incredible condiment begs to be served on a freshly toasted sandwich. I’m going to Big Green Egg to make some delicious sandwiches to go with this bacon jam.

A big, heavy cheeseburger was the first sandwich I ever tasted! The bacon jam has an onion sweetness and a hint of tartness that complements a freshly grilled burger. I added lettuce to the burger for this photo, but the bacon jam could easily stand on its own.

Next on the menu is a grilled chicken and havarti cheese sandwich. The smoky flavor of the bacon complements the mild flavor of the chicken and the silkiness of the Havarti sandwich. This is a great combination!

As we ate sandwiches, one thought kept flashing through my mind: this bacon jam makes the deli board scream! I usually use fig jam on my boards, but I know bacon jam will level up my deli game. The next night I invited some friends over for some drinks and decided to serve up the bacon sauce with a simple deli board. It complements blue cheese, sauces and red wine perfectly. My visitor was quick to order bacon jam.
