What’s the best way to cook some ground beef

Maybe you can’t miss a lot. Maybe you miscalculated the number of burgers you need to cook for a block party. If you have a lot of ground beef, raw or cooked, for whatever reason, you’re in luck. There are many amazing ways to use leftovers because it is one of the most versatile materials available. Bonus: This technique works with any ground beef or bread, so try it with turkey, chicken, lamb, or pork as well.

What’s your plan for the leftover ground beef

Ground beef can be stored in its original container in the refrigerator. Alternatively, you can wrap the meat in plastic wrap and store it in an airtight container. If you unwrap the meat, it will brown faster. However, the meat will last two days with either option.

To keep ground beef fresh, keep the refrigerator temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit at all times.

Cool the beef on the lower shelf near the back of the refrigerator. The back of the freezer is the coldest and is not affected by changes in temperature when the refrigerator door is opened. As a result, this is the safest area to store raw meat.

In addition, placing ground beef on the bottom shelf reduces the chances of liquid spilling and contaminating other items.

Ground beef will keep in the refrigerator for up to two days. Use the freezer for long term storage. Later in this essay, I will explain how to freeze ground beef.

If the meat is going to be used in the near future, it can be refrigerated or frozen in its original container. Store refrigerated items at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower and use them within a day or two. Wrap in heavy-duty plastic wrap, aluminum foil, freezer paper, or freezer-safe plastic bags for extended freezer storage.

How can you make taco meat more filling

In our house, tacos are a mainstay, and I make them many times a month. Tacos are relatively inexpensive to prepare, healthy when prepared with the right ingredients, and everyone enjoys them! We only had three people to feed, but since I also needed to prepare lunch for my husband, I tried to find a method to stretch our tacos so I didn’t have to buy extra ground beef or turkey. Here are some ideas for adding to the taco meat while still retaining the taste!

1. Add a can of Rotel or chopped tomatoes.

The only ingredients in the Rotel are tomatoes and green chilies. This is a great method of adding flavor to taco meats for less than a dollar a can.

2. Beans I use canned black, pinto, or red beans that I have. It makes the meat last longer, plus the protein, and the legumes are good for you.

3. Basmati Rice

I usually make Spanish rice to serve with our tacos, but I’ll also include it in the taco mix once in a while. Another inexpensive option is rice, which helps stretch the meat.

4. Vegetables

Corn, peppers, onions, and zucchini are fantastic additions to tacos. They have great taste, are cheap, and healthy. It’s also a great way to include vegetables in a child-friendly diet.

How to make ground beef more filling

Adding items to ground beef to add to it is one of the simplest methods to make ground beef go further in your recipe. Bulking simply hides the ingredients in the meat allowing you to retain the flavor while increasing the overall volume.

Here are some great ways to add ground beef and other ground meats:

  • textured vegetable protein
  • vegetables: grated, chopped, or in a food processor

Don’t worry, adding canned beans and other ingredients to your dishes won’t make them taste weird. The flavors and seasonings of the meat will mask the flavors of the beans, vegetables, rice, and other ingredients.

How can you make a pound of ground beef last longer

If you want to keep most of your recipe but save money on ground beef, you can use inexpensive fillers to increase bulk.

We do this often, but if we’re trying to save money, I’d rather reduce the amount of meat needed by 25% and move on.

If you have extra vegetables or fillings, you can use them instead to stretch your ground beef.

GENERAL FILLERS FOR MEAT MEAT:

In general, the combination of one choice of vegetables, one choice of flour, and one egg works well with most of our favorite foods.

1/2 cup cooked rice, 1 cup black beans, and 2 large carrots mashed in a food processor and combined with 1 pound of raw ground beef is our favorite combination.

You may need to do something different depending on your food choices or allergies. However, this is a fantastic gluten free blend that tastes amazing!

  • Oatmeal (cooked or raw)
  • Cooked beans (any type)
  • dozen eggs (1 per pound of bacon)

HOW TO ADD A FILLER:

This step will be much easier if you have a food processor. Because you can delegate most of the work to the food processor!

Place your ingredients in a food processor and coarsely chop, then blend until well combined. If you’re doing something difficult, like carrots, I recommend blending the carrots first to make sure they’re diced… then add the rest!

In general, though, you can use a food processor to combine whatever fillings you like (preferably vegetables, flour, and an egg). This will allow them to mimic the texture of the meat well.

After you have prepared the filling, combine it with the raw meat in a mixing bowl with a paddle attachment (or by hand).

You can now use this in any recipe that calls for regular ground beef.

This will turn 1 pound of beef into 2 pounds if you use our favorite combination (printed version below).

You can also brown the meat and store it in the freezer. It will have a slightly different texture than regular beef, but we find it really easy to fit in our homes!

Don’t give up if the first combination you try doesn’t work. You can try different combinations to see what works best for your household.

HACK BONUSES:

Instead of using a pound of meat, we recommend using the amount of 1 cup. As a result, 1 cup per pound is required.

That will result in a meat reduction of over 25%, but try for at least one meal and see if anyone notices!

You can also make 2-Minute Homemade Ranch Sauce while you’re in the kitchen! Or, if you’re craving something sweet, how about The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever?!
